You might notice a couple things different about this show - besides the AWESOME sounds of whales that my guest brought in. That is, the commercials and other bits that I’ve added into the final edit of the show sound just like everything else. How is that? I have recently purchased a firewire audio device that allows me to plug in the big, sweet, full-range microphones that we use at the station, eliminating the need to use my little mini-jack watch-battery-powered microphone for the final editing. The sound quality is excellent, and I’m learning how to use a new editing program as well. I’ll tell you all more about it later. I’ll put up a big post about the anatomy of the Mindcast another day, so you can all see how much effort goes into it.
I just moved across town, however, the plus side is I’m right next to the KDRT station, so I can go in and record bits for my show anytime there isn’t a live show in the studio. I’m getting the rest of these shows edited now, and they will continue to be put up as they are finished. Although I let this backlog accumulate, I spent lots of time this spring and summer bringing in some excellent guests. Well worth it. Feel free to comment on the show on this post, as always.
