Bumble Bees prefer warm flowers, second infectious cancer found, goats genetically engineered with human lysozyme produce milk that fights bacteria, planetary mass objects or planemos orbiting around each other in the depths of space, United States has a lot of catching up to do in understanding of genetics and acceptance of evolution.
The Mosquito Menagerie: Vicki Kramer, Sharon Lawler, Jim Northup, and Rick Roush. We discussed the issue of spraying mosquitoes for West Nile Virus.
There was a document discussed during the show, which was obviously unavailable to radio listeners. Podcast downloaders, however, can take a look right here. The disagreement was over whether or not this data assembled after a previous WNV aerial spraying of mosquitoes was effective in curbing infections. Although it would have been impossible to do a proper randomized experiment, the data did suggest that the spraying worked to prevent new infections during the height of mosquito season.
