Here’s the event notice that I put on the Davis Wiki yesterday about my show tonight.

This week on The Inoculated Mind, an interview with Phillip Johnson, the “Father of Intelligent Design.” Hear about what the ID proponents have been up to since the Dover defeat of 2005. Is there scientific research being done on the concept of biological design, or are they just trying to poke holes in evolution? Also joining the show will be science blogger Ed Brayton, who has written prolifically about the Dover case, and who is co-authoring a book which will be out this year. Interviews begin at 6:30 after the coverage of science news from the past week.

Yes, I will be interviewing Phillip Johnson and Ed Brayton (announcement on his blog) on my show tonight. Also, this will be the first ever two-phone call-in show, I had to go to the station and figure out a way to jerry-rig my computer’s skype into the system to make it happen.

I haven’t been able to do a full test of the system at all - which means that I could run into problems, but despite what the tech guru at the station said, I think it will work. I just used the mixing board’s second auxilliary audio-out to bring sound from the board to the computer, and then the computer came back out to go into one of the board’s channels. In case you’re thinking that there will be feedback, and the person on my skype will hear an echo of themself, there’s a knob that I can turn to keep the aux-out from sending the signal back.

If the interview setup works, It will allow Phillip Johnson and Ed Brayton to exchange words with each other as well as myself, and they will both be able to hear the music.

If the interview itself is successful, then you’ll all be hearing about it.
