In case any of you may have been wondering why not much has been going on on this site in the last month and a half, I now have you’re answer: We just bought a house! I don’t have any fabulous photos of it, so here are a couple pictures that we took while we were first looking at the house in early September. At the end of the month, we reached a deal with the seller, and as of 1 pm Friday afternoon, we closed and join the millions of Americans who are deep in debt. Oh yeah!

Well, a house is an investment, so it’s not consumer debt, which is really bad. It was a buyer’s market, so we got a pretty good deal on the house, and it has a lot of space inside. It is going to be a fun next couple of years as we fix up all the little things in this place that need fixing (believe me, there are a lot), and make it our home. Almost all of our stuff is moved over already, except our bed, Love Sac (foam bean-bag chair), kitchen goods, and some office furniture.

I’ll be busy cleaning up the apartment this week, and finishing the moving, so don’t expect a lot of posts coming your way just yet.

Let me mention a couple cool things about the house. First, it is close to campus - I can still ride my bike along the new solar-charged lighted bike path that was just built. The house has enough rooms that we could rent one, has a nifty porch overlooking the back yard, and a big full basement that is unfinished and waiting for our ideas. One room downstairs will become the new Haro von Mogel Studio eventually, and the rest will be easy to work on, too. This basement has a not-bathroom (not a room) which is surrounded by what I like to call not-walls, which are studs with some cheap paneling on one side. Very easy to change.

And one other really cool thing about this place is the back yard! Veggie Garden Ho! I could plant my GMO’s here.*

I must shove off to sleep, now, so much to do!

(Now how did any bank decide to loan me money anyway? Don’t they know how much’little grad students make??)

*I don’t have any, silly. But I will be getting those glowing transgenic aquiarium fish now that I’ll have room to fill up the tank.
